Early Life and Running Origins

Bridget grew up doing a little bit of everything—dance, band, cheer, track, volleyball—you name it. After running track in high school, she discovered the world of distance running in college and jumped straight into marathon training. Her first marathon in 2009 came with plenty of rookie mistakes and an injury that sidelined her, giving her firsthand experience in the same challenges many first-time marathoners face today.

Personal Growth As a Runner

Since then, Bridget has transformed her running journey. After joining the Get Running team as an athlete in 2016, she progressed from a 4:46 marathon to a 3:28 PR. She’s now a homeschooling mom of two, a pastor’s wife, and a coach who helps her athletes see similar breakthroughs in their running that she has seen herself. At this point, she has beat all of her pre-baby PRs and knows she has faster times ahead of her in her late 30s. She’s currently trying to get her 5K under 20min this summer and then aiming for sub 3:25 in Indy this fall.

Fitness Professional Background

Before becoming a running coach, Bridget spent time teaching yoga classes and training clients in more of a traditional weight training paradigm. This background has set her up well to be our team’s strength training specialist. She is working on getting programs for purchase in Final Surge. You can currently buy her Foundations program here.

Bridget As a Coach

Bridget is passionate about helping runners build strength, confidence, and sustainable training habits that fit real life. Her coaching philosophy centers on longevity, health, and joy. Above all, she wants every athlete she works with to develop a strong, sustainable, and deeply rewarding relationship with running.

She has had clients that have comeback post-injury, clients that have rebuilt a healthy relationship with running after being overtrained by a previous coach, and clients who have worked with her for years to take 30-90min off their marathon times. She loves building deep relationships with her clients and an atmosphere of mutual trust.

In recent years, Bridget has also served as a support coach at major races including NYC, Houston, Boston, and Indy —one of her favorite parts of the job.
